Wow!  Mike is in the hospital in Honolulu.  We were flown over in a tiny, tiny plane at 3 am last night.  He has a severe case of necrotizing pancreatitis, which means the pancreas is being destroyed, killed, being made dead. I have heard a range of forecasts. It is severe, but they are anticipating a recovery. We will be here somewhere between 2 to3 days to 2 to 3 weeks.

The usual cause of pancreatitis is alcohol consumption and high triglycerides. Huh? Mike doesn't drink except for the communion wine, and his triglycerides are normal. One doctor, an internist, not a gastrointestinal doctor, said it is the worst case he has ever seen. 

Poor guy, no food, not even a drop of water.  He has to let his GI system completely rest.  I will keep you all posted.
