My leg is already much better. Wow! If I extend the leg and make a firm heel strike with a contracted upper thigh, there is almost no problem.
I spent most of the day playing catch-up with the updates. They take an inordinate amount of time, but I fear giving up the activity. Doing it gives structure to my life, even purpose. It won’t be good if all my readers disappear. My current email recipients can remain quiet and say nothing. I will never know if they do or do not read it. It’s not like a book you know no one buys. The public blog is another thing. While the numbers are increasing dramatically, most of my readers are assigned to read it for some class. Right now, I have had over 47,000 visits. It’s a phenom- which could disappear at any moment. I have no idea what people get out of it.
I managed to hobble around enough to get some cleaning done. Then mid-day, I found myself moving about forgetting about the walking stick.
Today was the fourth day I solved the Wordle puzzle on my first try after putting in my three test words ready, quick, and stomp. Those words gave me at least one green slot and three other yellow ones. Yesterday, I had two green and three yellow. The answer was obvious.
I had the M & W sisters this afternoon. First-grade M has been moving about more during our sessions than she had been. I suspect this is a response to the extensive testing she was put through over her spring break. Her parents insist she has dyslexia. I saw she is somewhat delayed, but I saw her problems as much a result of anxiety as any learning problem. The significant change for M came when she saw that the teacher taught phonics to the whole class, not just ‘dyslexics.’
M chose to write a story about three fish who played hide ‘n go seek. If she were less scattered, it would all go more easily.
With fifth grade W, I switched to reading, emphasizing decoding multi-syllable words. I chose a Barnell Loft Reading Skills book at the sixth-grade level. She still misses words but is more inclined to catch her error and self-correct. Her comprehension is good.
