I moved the car out of the driveway to free the area for yoga last night. After charging the car the whole day, the car registered zero bars of electric energy. Huh! When I unplugged the charger, I noticed that the red light was on.
After yoga, I immediately moved the car back into the driveway and plugged it in. I checked the readout on the charger. It looked good; no red light. A few hours later, I checked again. The red light was back, and when I checked inside the car, the readout there did not indicate that any charging was going on. I called Kia. They said, “Can you bring it down now?” There were two bars now. Some charging must have been going on.
Yesterday, I set out to do vinegar weed killing. The two-gallon sprayer didn’t work. I know that sign. The plastic plug at the bottom of the plugger had pucker and no longer held its seal. Sure enough. I had that problem once before because I had left the plunger in the container with vinegar. I thought the vinegar had corrupted it. There was no vinegar in the container this time, so that couldn’t be the problem. I screwed the plunger back on. I think the changes in air pressure are causing the problem. I called the company so I could order more of those plastic seals. I had ordered two previously but now couldn’t find the one more I had. Next time, I have to remember to put my stash in the junk draw.
I called the company; I spoke to the actual manufacturer rather than the distributing company, Echo USA. Our connection was broken, and they hung up on me. I started from scratch. I had trouble getting through to the Echo this time. Finally, in the late afternoon, I made contact. The customer service guy gave me the telephone number of the manufacturer. I called. They were an east coast company and already closed.
I had an appointment with J today. We did another cowriting activity and started our next reading assignment. He didn’t know what to write about. I asked him what the first thing that came to his mind was. Christmas, especially the food his mom was going to make. He loves his mom’s cooking. He wrote two pages describing the process of making hot chocolate and tamales. We had time to work on the reading, too. When we started, he said he was reading at a level T. I had him start on level R. He did well, so today, we moved up to level S. The language is noticeably more complicated. I asked him if he saw any differences in his comprehension in his school assignments. He said yes. I asked a little or a lot. He said a lot. Yay! I don’t know if the teacher sees it. It’s not as important as his seeing it. If he feels more comfortable doing his work, he will continue to improve. If I am giving him skills he needs to improve, he will continue to get better on his own.
I was supposed to do work with E. today. I was too tired and asked if we could put it off until Saturday or Sunday and went down for a nap.
