It was a dreary day. Judy passed me on her way to church. She said it was 690. I was on the phone with Dorothy at the time. For some reason, Dorothy knew the temperature in Honolulu. It was 750. She couldn’t understand how there could be such a difference in temperature within the same state.
The ecology of Honolulu is entirely different than it is here on the Big Island. First, the temperature at the shoreline here on the Big Island is five to seven degrees warmer than at our elevation. Next, the mountains on the Big Island are 13,000-14,000 feet high, and we have two of them. The mountains on Oahu are between 1,500 and 3,000 feet. The higher up you go, the colder it gets. That means there’s a reserve of cold air on the Big Island that comes sweeping down with the wind. Then Big Island is mostly rural. Honolulu is cement on cement. I am so glad I live where I live.
At the end of the day, I felt like I had gotten nothing done, but I had. I finished my deep cleaning of my universal access shower. I cleaned the louvered windows with rubbing alcohol. I’m going to have to use vegetable oil on them at some point. The water and soap residue didn’t come off the glass.
I reread my article. Again, I made some significant changes. I’m going to wait until I don’t react that way. After two such readings, I’ll contact the professional editor I found on Craig’s list.
I managed to clean some of the bins in the refrigerator. I’ve been looking at them for a while. I also got in a great nap.
