I left St. Michael’s immediately after the mass today because Damon had called in the middle.  I hoped to reach him.  He never answers when I call.  He’s a busy boy.  I let him call me.  He usually calls once every two weeks.  I think this was longer, but perhaps not. I think I spoke to him once during the Southern California fires.

Damon lives in LA proper, in Los Feliz. His area suffered from electrical outages due to strong winds, but there were no fires. He said if you looked at his neighborhood, you wouldn’t know anything had happened.

Friends of Damon and Cylin were reconsidering buying a house in their neighborhood.  The house has a view of Griffith Park.  While it’s a beautiful view, their friends are viewing it now through the lens of a fire hazard.  I had that thought when considering Damon’s situation. He’s one block from the park. Then, I heard the park was surrounded by water tankers. The city was ready to protect its historical site.

I shared the results of my heart tests, and  Damon shared his. He has always had high cholesterol, and  I’ve been aware of that and concerned. Today, he told me he gets heart CAT scans every five years. The measure is 0-100%. His tests always come out with a 0% rating. The blood tests for measuring cholesterol are inadequate. As Dr. Reed told me, there are different types of HDLs and LDLs. The standard test doesn’t measure that.

It was the first Sunday of the month: sound bath day at the Unity Church. It always has a calming effect. I like getting a healing from Denise.  Today, her back was killing her.  Her back went out while she was doing a healing on someone. Did she take on someone else’s problem, or did her body give out because of repeated big moves?

Another healer came over and worked on her.  I was not inclined to offer my services. She’s said nothing about my energy.  Healers often have something to say. It’s not always positive. Three have told me I have a huge aura, and they weren’t complimenting me. I never have had good feedback on what my enlarger aura might mean.  I don’t know if I even have it anymore.  I don’t feel diminished, but I never felt enlarged.

Last month, Clyde asked if I would include him on my updates list. I dreaded his comments, afraid he would be effusively positive. His only comment was that he read a few of them. Ah! What a relief.

When I got out of the sound bath session, I checked my phone. Fourth-grade MH’s father had texted me. Could I meet with her at 2 p.m.? I would make it home just in time.

I could only see the top of her head on the Zoom screen. I asked her if she could sit up so I could have a full view of her face.  She glanced to her right and changed her posture. I asked, “Did your mom tell you to sit up?”   “No. She told me to move closer.” That was an accurate response.  But the “no” was an accurate but inappropriate response. She says things like that a lot.  I guess she is very literal-minded. Excessive literal-mindedness is associated with trauma.

Her dad actually thought the Golden State Bridge was made out of gold.  The family laughs at him.  MH’s mom told me her dad believes her problems are his fault.  I guess he thinks she inherited her cognitive limitations from him. Since we know about epigenetic inheritance now, perhaps she did.  That just makes it a problem of generational trauma.

We continued working on Phase III of the Phonics Discovery System, which involved dictation and spelling, using a multi-strategy approach to spelling. I asked MH if she saw improvement in her spelling. She gave me an emphatic yes. Yay! We continued working on Phase III of the Phonetic Discovery System, which involves dictation and spelling. MH has serious problems remembering the exact words she heard.
