Today was a top-drawer eventful one. I started while I was still in bed.  I heard something like birds fluttering in the attic.  My first thought was, 'Michael is up to it again." Then the bed shook, and the whole house rattle. Maybe not Mike; perhaps just a plain ole earthquake.

When I got up, my hip hurt pretty bad.  I managed to walk Elsa to where the driveway met the street.  I was begging her to do her business there when a couple I run into regularly came by.  I asked them to walk her. She was a little reluctant.  I assured her I would not move from the spot. She went with them willingly.

I managed to get into the house and put myself back to bed. I was in agony. I couldn't even manage to get up to find my muscle relaxant pills.  I texted Yvette, Judy, and Paulette, telling them I was in need. Yvette was the first one by my side.  She helped me go to the bathroom and got my muscle relaxant pill.  She was in a hurry because she had a massage client.

I lay in bed, figuring Judy would be the next to call.  I thought she would come over and help me get my breakfast in me. But no, it was Josh, Yvette's husband, who was off work from the post office for the day because it was Veteran's Day. He texted me to tell me he was available. Boy, he was a dream come true. He was amazing.

First, I had to go to the bathroom. Josh left the room while I struggled to get out of bed.  I couldn't.  Josh had to help me. I had gotten on to my belly, but I couldn't wiggle off the bed. Josh had to come and pull my legs until they were over the edge of the bed so I could stand up. Let's just say I wasn't appropriately dressed to expose someone to that sight, but Josh handled it like a trooper.  He left while I did my business.

Then I walked out to my love seat/anti-gravity chair on the lanai.  The bed might have been okay, but I wasn't raised enough to read or work on the computer.  Josh made sure I had my phone, books, and my computer, and prepared my breakfast foods.  I started with my morning soup.  He said when I was ready for my Juice Plus smoothie to text him, he would come up.

He didn't just do the job; he did it with enthusiasm.  I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am.  For those of you who don't know, love and gratitude are my two favorite feelings.

I also asked him if he could drive me to my PT appointment at 1:30.  I don't know what I did for the intervening hours. I know I did some reading, but clearly, I didn't do any writing.

I was able to get up and get my smoothie out of the frig myself as well as several runs for ice packs and the bathroom.  Nothing was as bad as that moment when Josh had to help me off the bed. Lucky guy!

I spent the day lying down until we went to my PT appointment.  It was 45 minutes to an hour-long, so Josh went off to do some shopping.  Again, I was impressed with the skill of the PT.  I asked her what kind of training she had. She said she was a doctor of physical therapy.  From what I could figure out, that means she got a PT undergraduate degree and then spent three additional years training to PT.  I have to ask more questions. The difference between what she has been giving me and what I have had in the past is unbelievable.  First place, she did a whole-body evaluation.  I was told that a PT could only work on what a doctor has specifically mentioned in the prescription. She looked at my whole body to determine where the problem was coming from.  She pointed out that I overused two spinal areas and was tight in all the others.  Once she gave me directions to move my lower back without hinging at the waist, I knew exactly what to do.  I had been working on those changes for the last week. She could see the difference. She said I'm a great person to work on: I follow up, and I have some knowledge of the body already.

She did some work on my body to help relieve the pain and gave me some exercises.  We also made another appointment for Friday because of my pain. I'll see if I feel I need it. I have to cancel 24 hours before or pay a penalty fee.  She initially thought I only had a prescription for 12 sessions, but it winds up I have 23.  Dr.Edwards put down that I have problems with both my hip and my back, all true, earning me the 11 additional sessions.  I can't say enough about the help I'm getting through this work.  I am excited.

As Josh and I drove home from the PT, he announced a red triangle light just went on. The last time that happened, I drove right down to my garage, JAWS.  In that case, it was a problem of low to no oil.  I have no idea why that happened, but it was no big deal. Although it would have been if I hadn't responded immediately.  Edwin, the JAWS owner, and mechanic, did some computer hook up to evaluate the problem.  He told me that the inverter cooling system had a problem.  He couldn't work on it because it had to do with the hybrid battery.  I was going to have to go next door to Toyota.  We drove over there.

I asked the guy at Toyota how much the cooling system's repair would cost and how much a new battery would cost.  I am trying to determine if it is worthwhile putting money into the car. It's eleven years old and had 135,000 miles on it. It's served me well, but maybe it's time to put it down.  I asked if I could drive it in the meantime.  He said the advice with this problem is not to drive it at all.  If the cooling system goes, the inverter goes.  The inverter costs $10,000.

Josh called Yvette to come to pick us up. Toyota wouldn't allow us to leave the car in their lot. We tried to call Edwin, who was only next door, to ask if we could park it in his lot, but there was no response. We drove over anyway and left the car there.  I put the key in one of the Early Bird envelopes with a note.  I figured I would call them in the morning.

When we got home, Yvette unloaded all the stuff from her car into my house, and I hit the sofa.  I was wondering what I was going to do with Elsa and for dinner when B called.  For those of you who don't know, B lives in a shed on our property.
