October 8, 2022

 October 8, 2022

I slept well last night despite napping for four hours during the day. Boy, whatever may be wrong with me, my sleep is in A1 condition.

No one signed up for my Saturday Reading and Writing office hours for Step Up Tutoring. I was in no hurry to get up and do my walk before seven a.m.

I didn’t do much all day. I’m the poster child for the retirement joke. “How many retired people does it take to change a light bulb? Just one, but it takes all day.” There’s also the adage, “If you want to get someone to do something, ask a busy person.” It is easier to get many things done than just a few. Besides feeling languid, a positive word for the state, I put off things because I can do them tomorrow.

I did get my 10,000 steps in. On one of my short walks, Judy passed returning from picking up a car from the airport and stopped to talk. She described the problems getting across Queen K to the airport during the Ironman race. The police had blocked off. People were going in both directions in two lanes on either side of the median strip. The police set up blockades. They had to wait for a break in the flow and then let one car race through at a time. It took them an hour to move one block on the way home on one occasion.

When Judy asked how I was, I told her I was feeling weird, anxious, and internally shaky but getting good sleep. I had no idea why I was feeling the way I was. It was maddening. When I got home, I took a CDB pill. Its impact was immediate. Fantastic!
