 Friday, March 14, 2025

Wow! This was a dead day.  It started last night. I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed as I headed to bed. I got two hours of sleep, and that was it for the rest of the night. I wasn’t agitated; I just couldn’t sleep. It wasn’t insomnia, or at least not the version I suffered after my dad died.  I just wasn’t tired. I realized later it was the night of the blood moon. I finally got up around three and wrote. I returned to bed around five, thinking I could get in a few hours. But no, that wasn’t in the cards.

I got up and went on my walk around 5:30, figuring I would be tired when I got home and get a nap in. I had nowhere to be until 10 for the Hula class. Then nausea hit.  I felt lousy. I had a cranial sacral appointment scheduled for 11:30 after the Hula.  First, I thought I’d wait to see if the nausea cleared. It didn’t.  Around 9:30, I contacted Tomi to tell her I had a problem.  It was up to her if I’d come or not. I told her I might be ill, but there was another possibility. While I lay in bed with nothing to do,  I applied some of the techniques she used on me on myself. She does lymph work and fascia releases. I did both on various parts of my body, areas I could reach where she had already done it. Then, I applied what I thought was a fascia release to my upper chest.  I felt a chill across my upper back. I associate that with an energy release.

Tomi advises plenty of water and rest after a treatment. Darby, who recommended Tomi to me, says she’s knocked out after a treatment. I did fine with Tomi’s treatments so far.  I may have overdone it on myself. I spent most of the day sleeping on the sofa and drinking water. I canceled my tutoring students for the day. I wasn’t up for anything. The worst cleared around five p.m.  I managed a short walk with Elsa.  Darby didn’t join us. Her day had been too hectic. She needed rest.

I had a call from my accountant during the day. My taxes were ready—a mere $1,000 for the service. Ow! I will go down there on Monday to pay and pick up the finished form.

I had a new experience tonight. I walked out to the lanai and saw Elsa standing on the dining room table. I didn’t know what I was looking at at first. There wasn’t any food on the table. I have no idea what inspired that move. From now on, I will have to make sure the chairs are pushed in.

I’d given up on The Resident, a TV series on Netflix. Too much evil in it. I prefer to think of my medical care providers as being concerned for my well-being, not as a money-grubbing bunch who are prepared to deliberately kill people to secure their profits. I found a movie that’s more to my taste, The Bank of Dave, on Netflix; a story about a little guy from a relatively small town who opens a bank for the sake of the town’s people despite the efforts of the big banks.  It’s a true story.
