Oh, dear. My weight was back up to 147 lbs. My body doesn't like those nuggets anymore.

My left shoulder was in a fair amount of pain last night. It started hurting after I took the 'fall' several months ago. At the moment, it was my ribs that hurt. That cleared up quickly. My shoulder pain did not. In June, when I got the hip X-ray in preparation for the THR, the X-ray technician said my prescription for the X-ray was good until July. It couldn't hurt to get one- or could it. X-rays aren't recommended for healthy living like vitamins: Get your daily X-ray.

Walking into the clinic, I saw a picture of a baby on all the receptionists' glass panels. At first, I thought it might be an amber alert. Then I saw the name of the baby, Cameron Reed. It was Dr. Reed's baby. Yay! Dr. Reed is my primary physician, an absolutely lovely woman. She was out on bedrest for most of her pregnancy. I hope the baby will be okay.

After I checked in, I walked down the hall to the X-ray waiting room. June came out to speak to someone. When she saw me, she asked, "Are you here to see me?" Yep. The order had yet to come through. She checked it while I was taking off my sweatshirt. It's always delightful to see June. She loves her work, except for not seeing the sun the whole day. That would wear on me. Now, let's see what the results show. My biggest fear is that the surgery I got twenty years ago for my rotator cuff tear had ripped. Someone said I would need a shoulder replacement if that was the case. They're less common than knee and hip replacements. I had just heard of them a few months ago.

On my way home, I stopped off at Costco to pick up the lemons that weren't available the other day. I also stopped at the pharmacy to pick up Blink eye gel. Paulette uses it twice a day, at night, right before she goes to bed, and in the morning when she wakes up. She told me she couldn't see for a while after applying it. Paulette uses Systane; Sandor, my optometrist, said he liked the Blink brand better. I checked the Costco pharmacy counter. They didn't have Blink drops, but they did carry Systane gel. I bought that. I could order Blink gel drops from Amazon.

Bailey, from Jack Be Click, told me that the motherboard on my Apple MacBook Air was dead. I could spend six hundred-fifteen dollars on a new motherboard or buy a new one for $800. Given there was no damage to the computer, he suggested I contact Apple and see if they would cover the repairs outside of the warranty. I called; no, they wouldn't. They did offer to make an appointment at a Genius Bar. The closest Genius Bar is in Honolulu. I have to fly there. I texted  Bailey to ask if buying it at Costco was a good idea. If so, what kind of Apple. He said the Apple MacBook Air was a good model;  I had bad luck.

I thought he could transfer the files from my old computer to the new one. No, so sorry. That information is on the motherboard, which died. Okay! I was in Costco. I asked the sales clerk why I would only need the more expensive computer if I ran many programs. I don't. I got the cheaper one. This time, I got Apple Care as well. It all came to under a thousand. I remember a time when computers cost two thousand dollars.

When I got home, I had a session with Adolescent D.  No, he hadn't done any work independently. He had printed out the list of assignments and crossed out the ones he finished on notetaking. We continued working on the next assignment. I don't usually do classwork with students. If I do, it is to teach a skill. D needs to learn how to break down assignments into manageable bites. I would find the total task overwhelming, too, even now. The other positive outcome I'm hoping for is that he'll develop more confidence as I affirm the value of his input.

I talked to D about using Grammarly to check the wording of his answers. He produced an awkward sentence. His information was good, just not the wording. We got through most of another assignment. He said, "We're out of time!" I wanted to get more done. He has trained himself not to care. It's too painful.

I watched Almost Australian. Mariam Margoles is not the world's best dresser—I doubt she ever was—but most people knew her because she was one of the professors in Harry Potter. It was most enjoyable.
