Sunday, December 29, 2019

I woke up at 6 am despite not having to be anywhere before 10.  I finally got up shortly before 7.  I planned to take the longest of the long Sunday walks, but my hip started bothering me, and I headed home before I did the full circuit.  When I came home,  I did a prewash spray on my sheets.  I had been planning to wash them for a while, but every day I was ready to do so, it rained. This morning, it looked clear, but on the way home from church, ominous clouds were coming over the mountain, and drops started to fall.  Oh well.

It was a day devoted to cleaning and organizing.  I have been sorting through all the things that got stuffed into closets and drawers as an alternative to deciding what to get rid of. I found ten pillows, many of which needed to simply be dumped in the trash.  What was left was some that looked like they were in good shape and some that seemed good enough to give to the homeless once I washed them.

I organized the area in the laundry room, where I  stored the cleaning equipment. I found boxes to contain all the loose pieces that come with the vacuum cleaners. Yes, cleaners.  I have three now, my Rainbow, a Shark Yvette bought for us, so we had one here while we were still visiting and hadn’t moved in yet, with our Rainbow, and my new Bissell wet/dry vacuum cleaner.  I bought the last one when my Rainbow was on the fritz.

I did some work in the library.  I checked seven shelves but found no books.  It is time to ask John Coughlin to find another seminary that might be interested in getting some of Mike’s books.

I slept well and was up before the alarm went off.  In June, it was light at 5:30, but now, it is not so much.  Being close to ...
