Today was the day I had my appointment with JAWS to have my air conditioner checked. I left earlier than usual. Yvette was going to pick me up at JAWS and take me to yoga. She left earlier than I did to pick up Scott, who was also going to the class. As I figured, they were at JAWS before I was. I had placed my yoga mat in her car this morning when she left. The garage wasn’t open, and I had to put the key in an envelope and drop it through the mail slot.
As it wound up, Yvette wasn’t even going to class herself. She just dropped off Scott and me and went off to do some chores. After class, Heather commented on how straight I was. The inside of my left leg acted up as I work on relaxing and gently stretching it. Katie had recommended I use a yoga block or a rolled-up towel. I started using a tennis ball. That puts pressure on the tense muscle and allows me to lean the leg into the ball and reduce tension.
Yvette picked Scott and me up after class. I arrived shortly after 9 am. The car was nowhere near being ready. Edmund hadn’t even taken it into the shop yet. Tasha said it would be an hour. The car was ready at 11:30. I read my Kindle for a while and then curled up on the wooden bench in their waiting room and took a nap. I wasn’t as comfortable as I had been sleeping on the three chairs in the bathroom that night in the hospital with Mike. But then, I had sleeping pillows. All I had now was my purse. I didn’t leave until close to 12.
Edmund told me that the air conditioner compressor wasn’t holding a charge anymore. He couldn’t work on it because something about the air conditioner went through the hybrid battery. That is a very high-risk operation. It could kill the person working on it. I would have to take it to Toyota. It sounds like a $1500 to $2000 job. Tasha recommended I take it to Toyota in Hilo. They have heard complaints about Kona Toyota. I figure if I want to have it fixed, I can limit what they do. But as Edmund asked if I wanted to put more money into this car. It was twelve years old, had over 130,000 miles on it. I already had to replace part of the hybrid system (I can’t remember the name of the part or the cost), and the front bumper is dimpled as the sides of the bumper wing out, making the car looks like a flying machine.
I had wanted to go to school today, but it closed early, at one pm. That didn’t happen.
When I got home, Scott was installing my toilet. The color difference is not great, but I see it. It blends in more with the surrounding tiles, which are all in shades of brown. I am happy with my new toilet.
I spent most of the day getting the blog updated. However, I haven’t yet announced it on media. I thought I had a huge list of names on my email, names I accumulated from God knows where or how people I didn’t really know. It would have made an excellent forum for announcing the blog, but Yahoo has apparently cleaned up my email list. I know most of the people on it now, and many of those same people are getting the email updates already, which I will continue to send out.
Carol Zim called today. She and John are about to take off on another adventure. They will be away from their Maryland home for about a month, traveling in their camper to Florida and Georgia. John told me about Facebook Market Place. They said they had more success with it than Craig’s List. I may post my antique linens there. We’ll see.
I wound up thinking a lot about K, B’s grandson today. I got an excited feeling every time I thought of him. I finally called his mom. I had good reason to feel excited. He read five (5) books today on his own. I figured he would be having a big breakthrough soon.
Scott came up and installed the window contraption in the guest room to hook up the air conditioner. Damon must have air conditioning when he is here.
