This morning, I weighed 130 lbs. At least the scale goes up and down. I had gone down as far as 127.5.
The many hours of rest during the day caught up with me. I was awake by 1:30 a.m. and spent the rest of the night obsessing or meditating to wrestle the obsessions into submission. I did a reasonably good job. I may, in fact, have achieved some order of healing. There’s that storehouse of negative sentiments to be unveiled, owned, and resolved. I’ve always believed in deep healing. I consider it a moral matter. Most harmful behavior is a result of unresolved inner conflict.
I downloaded another Kingsolver book on Audible, Unsheltered. She is a remarkable writer. She seamlessly merges personal fictional narrative and positions on the environment, social welfare, and class structure. She throws in miscellaneous scientific information and makes it sound natural to her characters. She knows to interrupt a lecture before her reader’s ears wear thin.
