 Thursday, May 5, 2022

The saber-rattling had increased. The stock market is taking a beating. Oh, boy. I could imagine Cylin saying to Damon, "We can't go to Hawaii under these circumstances." I couldn't blame her. I wouldn't want to be more than a four-day walk from home with what's happening in the world.

Yvette and Josh tried to move the futon from my studio into the library with its air conditioning. They lugged the mattress over. That was a struggle. It looked like they were carrying a large dead animal. Then they went to work on the frame. I had gone back to working on the updates when I heard Yvette's voice calling me. I thought she would ask where in the library I wanted it. No. They couldn't get the frame out of the study. The thing is a monster. It was too heavy for the two of them to move by themselves. They got the hand truck from the shed. That didn't work. They dropped the project until Damon arrived to help. I continued with my cleaning doing some every day.

At four-thirty, I had an appointment with Adolescent D.  He texted me, "Tomorrow, I think." Huh? It wound up he had another class that day. I hadn't been told ahead of time. I was disappointed about the missed class because I was excited to continue working with the modeling approach since he reacted well the other day. I was even more disappointed when I texted his mom, asking if she had told me about the change. No, they just forgot. No apology. That's a bad sign. I wondered if the mom wasn't starting to feel done with me. Maybe, it was time. Whether she wanted it or not, I would be ducking out if she kept up this treatment of me. My hairdresser said if someone is a no-show and doesn't apologize, they're dead to her. I'm not quite that severe, but I sure don't appreciate it when someone takes my time for granted.

Sandor and Meali'inani stopped by. He had my glasses, a new pair with an updated prescription. I got those quickly. I also order new prescriptions for my two old frames, one with progressive lenses and one for computer use. It'd been some time, and I still had yet to get my two other frames back. One was my extra progressives; the other was supposed to be for computer use. Their assistant hadn't ordered the correct lenses but ordered both pairs with progressive lenses. Sandor would place a new order, bifocals with near and in between with blue tint.

When I put on one of the glasses he had just delivered,  my vision was much better than with the glasses I had been using. They were the same prescription. What was going on? Sandor took the older pair and adjusted the frame. Voila! Perfect! I hate having to deal with glasses. They get dirty, scratched, and maladjusted. I looked forward to the cataract surgery I got before we left Ohio because I hoped never to wear glasses again. Then, I wound up with this problem with my eye requiring me to need prisms in my glasses. What a drag!

I finished The Crown, as far as it went. I started watching How Do You Know. Reese Witherspoon has 'it.' I can watch that woman breathe.   Paul Rudd's character is a waste of space. It's a ditzy movie. While I was watching the movie, I heard B arrive. Did I know what was going on? Yvette had parked her car to block his way down to the bottom of the property. I noticed she forgot about B needing to get down the driveway but hadn't thought to call her. I called out, "I have the key to her car." Yvette was walking up the driveway to move her car when I got there. I got to bed very late, after 10 pm.
